Central Heating explores themes of family, belonging and connection to place. Set within a layered landscape of deep blues and greens, elongated figures gather and move through the composition, creating a sense of shared history and quiet connection. Fragments of paper, netting and drawn marks emerge through the surface, revealing traces of the work’s construction and reflecting the layered nature of memory itself. While influenced by the figurative language of Modigliani, the figures remain intentionally ambiguous, acting as universal symbols of community, presence and kinship.
